My Therapeutic Approach
The psychotherapeutic approach I adopt is tailored to each client and their individuality. It is determined by each client’s specific therapeutic needs. I incorporate an integrative approach with a psychodynamic foundation. Psychodynamic therapy explores patterns, and where they stem from, in order to reduce current symptoms, foster healing and enhance insight, growth and interpersonal connections.
The therapeutic environment is integral to the therapeutic process. It is important for clients to feel comfortable in order to address the challenges they face and to walk on the path of self-discovery. It is for this reason that I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for clients.

Type of Therapy Offered:
Psychotherapy with Adolescents
The adolescent phase of development can be difficult to navigate as this is the phase when identity is being shaped and adolescents experience a lot of pressure from a variety of settings such as school and their peers. This is frequently complicated by social media, navigating joining adulthood, and having to make difficult decisions for their futures.
Adolescents may experience:
- Anxiety Disorders
- Mood Disorders
- Eating Disorders
- Overwhelming stress, pressure and worry
- Risk-taking behaviour (alcohol and drug use and/or self-harming behaviour)
- Challenges around identity, sexual identity and self-expression
- Low self-esteem
- Relational difficulties
Adolescents can manage these (and other) challenges with the help of psychotherapy. Psychotherapy can also equip them with skills they may need for adult life. I use creative ways to engage adolescents in the therapeutic process and to overcome the barriers of “normal” talk therapy.
Psychotherapy with Adults
Our world today is rife with challenges, pressure and disconnection and is often so fast-paced that it is difficult to navigate. Psychotherapy is an effective method to help with these difficulties. It has also been proven to help with the alleviation of the following symptoms, challenges and disorders that any human can experience:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Personality disorders
- Grief
- Trauma (adult and childhood trauma)
- Anger and/or passive aggressiveness
- Relational difficulties (with partners, family members, work colleagues)
- Work stress and frustration
- Substance abuse
- Coping with major life changes (loss of employment, divorce, chronic illnesses etc.)
- Insomnia
- Self-esteem difficulties
- Identity difficulties
- Self-growth
Adult psychotherapy is a collaborative process between myself (the psychologist) and you (the client). It is during this process that a greater understanding can evolve by engaging in “talk therapy”. The psychologist provides you with a supportive, consistent and objective environment where you can openly discuss any challenges you face. We work together to enhance your insight and change the pattern of behaviours and thoughts that are limiting you. Psychotherapy is an effective method to help you learn new (and healthy) ways of coping and to help you take control of your life.
